  My grandmothers name was Annie Florence Canney....  My grandmother and J
Westly Smith are buried in Rochester cemtery....  Her first husband is buried
in Dover (Herbert A Canney) in Pine Hill cemetery....  I think my grandmother's
maiden name was Nute, but I'm not sure.....  It was when your grandmother
(Nora) got through keeping house for Mr & Mrs Crosley that she visited with my
folks for several weeks....  I had two brothers and a sister, but they were
much older than I and have all passed away.  I was born Sept 20, 1909.  My
mother was born in Dover, Belknap Street, on Jan 22, 1873.  Rhuhamah, Hamie for
short.....  My son Luke Carlyle Billings was born Jan 4, 1934....  He has 3
children, 2 boys and a girl, the oldest Kenneth is getting married June 19....  
She [Hamie] was an only child and her parents separated when she was 10 yrs old
...  My mother kept a diary...for about twenty years before her death in 1943.

goes to Spaulding.  Glen works at Cogswell's in Dover.  My daughter-in-law
Connie works part time at Star Market in Dover as assistant produce manager....

  1856 Nov 12 - apparently Asa F York dallied in settling the estate (the file
contains several petitions for changes in bondsmen, etc.).  Finally, on this
date Asa F York of Brentwood gave bond of $4,000, with sureties Daniel
Batchelder and Charles Hardy of Chester NH, stating that he would present an
account of his admin to the court within one year.  This was signed by Mary E
York, attorney for Asa F York [apparently his wife], Daniel Batchelder, and
Charles Hardy.  Wit: L Towle [prob Lucinda Towle, d/o Ezekiel York], and Wm
Bates Cadmus [prob son of Ezekiel's dau Lavina Cadmus) [Rock Co NH Probate file
#16133].
  1860 Jun 7 - federal census of Monmouth, Kennebec Co ME:
     Frederick Robinson household 115/130 includes Judith B York ae 14 bNH;
household 121/137 is headed by Betsey York ae 72 bME, and includes two other
old women, but no Ezekiel. Household 129/146 is headed by John T York ae 33
bME, perhaps a s/o Ezekiel and Elizabeth York. The search was stopped at image

  Letter to Wilma T Regan of Exeter NH from Jeannie York, 59 Pine island Road,
Newbury MA 01950 15 May 1979: While trying to find my husbands gr gr granfather
and grandmother's (James Bradbury York and Mary (Emerson) York) graves in the
Epping, Nottingham, Lee NH area, we came across your Ezekiel York's grave.
  It is located on the Epping/Brentwood line in the woods off old Rte 101 in
back of the Evans family chicken farm.  Their son took us to the graveyard.  It
is in very poor condition.
  Ezekiel York was b 1 Sep 1783, poss Brentwood NH.  He was a
shoemaker-husbandman.  He d 1 Mar 1851 ae 67y 6m.  He was the s/o Capt Richard
York of Epping NH & Jerusha ___.
  Ezekiel was m to Nancy Folsom b 1788 in Parsonsfield ME d/o John Folsom of
Newmarket NH and Ann ___.  Nancy d 9 Apr 1871 Haverhill MA ae 81y 1m 9d.
  My husbands gr grandfather was Alfred York b 14 Jul 1807 Epping NH. His [gr]
grandmother was Abigail Watson b Nottingham NH.
  Ezekiel York and Nancy also had a son Alfred York b early 1800s, and for a
long time we thought they were one and the same person.  We still haven't found
any trace of Ezekiel's son Alfred.
  Do have much info on Ezekiel's and Nancy's children, and also on Capt
Richard York and Jerusha family.  Some of their children settled in Maine, as
did most of my husband's kin, children of James Bradbury York and Mary ___....

of the Democratic Central Committee for Rockingham Co NH lists Democratic
voters town by town.  In Brentwood are listed Ezekiel York and Simeon D York

Hello All,

Here's a copy of a Coos County Deed that I obtained last summer and
just got to...Maybe this helps you, Laird, and your thoughts on
Ezekial and Asa F.

PS.  I looked at the notes on Middletown, NJ and feel that this is
typical of the stuff Ruth and I independently ran across with LDS
work on the Col. John York family up in Bethel, ME.  Whoever did it,
did not know the area of Middleton NH nor its relationship to the
towns around it...When I have more time I look closer at it, but I
don't think there's very much here at this point.

Meanwhile the document...I believe the county had a fire and this was
a copy made at some time and now entered into the record to replace
the lost original county record.:

of New Hampshire Yeoman, for and in consideration of the sum of xxx
dollars to one in hand before the delivery thereof ...truly paid by

Maine.  Trade the receipt whereof I do hear...meaning to convey the
south ...located in the County of Coos in the said State of New
Hampshire..the town line of Bartlett and Jackson being part of
described in a deed from James Willey Land Commissioner for ...State
of New Hampshire & Jacob Sargent, John A. Prescott and others..dated
May 31, 1832.  Recorded June 5. 1832.  The lots conveyed by
deed...aforesaid are laid on a plan of survey made by the said
Wiley...the proprietors division.

To have and to hold the said ....anted premises with all the
privileges and appurtenance ...the same belonging to him the said Asa
and his heirs and ...as to his and their only proper use and benefit
forever....I the said Ezekiel and my heirs executors and
administrators to hereby covenant grant and agree to and ...the said
Asa and heirs and assigns that until the deliver...I am the lawful
owner of the said premises and am ...and possessed thereof in my own
right in fee simple...have full power and lawful authority to grant
and convey..ine in manner aforesaid,, that the said premises
are..clear from all and every incumbrances whatsoever...I and my
heirs, executors and administrators shall ...warrant and defend the
same to the said Asa heirs and assigns against the lawful claims
...demands of any person or person whomsoever.

Witness Thereof I have hereunto set my hand ...this eight day of July
