Northwood: Mrs Hazel D Holmes, 70, died at Concord Hospital yesterday after
a long illness.
She was born in Springfield, Mass., and had lived in Northwood for about 50
years. She had been for many years a private nurse and was last employed at
the University of New Hampshire.
Mrs. Holmes was a member of the First Baptist Church, and Ladies Aid; past
master of Mountain Laurel Grange, past noble grand of Forest Rebekah Lodge, and
a member of the Everett Bourden Post, American Legion Auxilliary and the
Auxilliary of the Northwood Volunteer Fire Department.
She leaves her husband, Harry W Holmes; three sons, Harry C and Richard T
Holmes of Northwood and George H Holmes of Rochester; two grandchildren.
Sevices will be conducted here at the First Baptist Church, Sunday at 2 pm
by Rev Walter S Oddy, pastor. Cremation will follow in Harmony Grove Cemetery,
Salem, Mass.
Friends may call at the Pinkham Funeral Home, Northwood, today from 7 to 9
pm.
