John Buzzell - it is probable that he served in the Rev War, as the records
of Runal's Co of Foot shows a John Buzzell enlisted 18 Jul 1780. However, the
records of other units also show enlistments for John Buzzells (or variants of
the spelling). A John and Simeon Buzzell are listed on the tax records of
Alton in 1827 and 1828. This latter John could be the son of Joseph Jr, and
Simeon could be the son of Silas, but that is conjecture. [Record of the

John B Buzzell - s/o Joseph Buzzell & Sarah Evans; b 1 Mar 1762 Madbury NH;
d 25 Dec 1840 Effingham NH; m1 1783 Elizabeth "Betsey" Randall (b 18 Dec 1763
Newcastle d/o Benjamin & Margaret (Mordantt) Randall; d Effingham 1805); a
source also lists Elizabeth's birthplace as New Durham; Elizabeth was a sister
of Elder John Randall who founded the Free Will Baptist demoniation in NH;
John B Buzzell m2 1805 Betsey Tasker (b 1805); he m3 7 Oct 1810 Susan Allen (b
13 Feb 1768; d Effingham 2 Mar 1842 ae 73y) {John Buzzell of Effingham & Miss
Susanna Allen of Parsonsfield were marr by Elder John Buzzell on 5 Oct 1810}.
The 1810 census of Effingham lists John Buzzell with 2 males 0-9yrs (William
and Joseph), 1 female 0-9yrs (Sarah), 1 male 10-16yrs (John), 1 male 16-26yrs
(Benjamin), 2 females 16-26yrs (Mary and Elizabeth), and 1 male 45+yrs.
Apparently John was a widower at the time of the enumeration, and had not yet
married Susan Allen.
(Note: A John B Buzzell was postmaster of Rochester NH from 5 Aug 1815 to
1818) [This would be John B Buzzell s/o Solomon & Elizabeth who married Susanna
Odiorne, and not the subject of this sketch, LCT].

--------------------
John Buzzell - it is probable that he served in the Rev War, as the records
of Runal's Co of Foot shows a John Buzzell enlisted 18 Jul 1780.
[Record of the
Abbotsford, Quebec, Branch of the Buzzell Family from 1728 to 1971, ed by H W
Buzzell, 2nd draft Nov 1971, typescript p7].
