rec; prob bur Leavitt cem where 1st wife is bur, but there is no stone.
Marr: m1 c1844 Elizabeth H Guptill; her surname is given in the marr rec of
their son J Frank Hartford; she was b 1821 & d 1853 per her gravestone in
Leavitt Cemetery in Fremont.
He m2 12 Feb 1854 Sarah B Guptill per his marr rec; the date should
probably be 1853 because their dau Sarah Louise was b 29 May 1853, and this
date of birth agrees with the age of Sarah Louise at death as given on her
death rec.
Residence & Occupation: laborer in Poplin/Fremont in 1850 census; husbandman
in Poplin/Fremont per 1851 deed; Poplin/Fremont in 1853/4 when m2; Fremont in
1853 when dau Sarah Louise was b; Fremont 1857 when son Pierce was b; shoemaker

her d/o John F Hartford & Sarah B Hartford, i.e., she names her step-mother as
her mother which happens frequently in such cases.

rec; this date of birth agrees with her age at death per her death rec; she m a
West & lived in Fremont where she d 17 Apr 1902 per her d rec.

rec indicates they had married at Concord on 15 Aug 1917; he div her for
