Hello All,Here's a copy of a Coos County Deed that I obtained last summer and
just got to...Maybe this helps you, Laird, and your thoughts on
Ezekial and Asa F.PS. I looked at the notes on Middletown, NJ and feel that this is
typical of the stuff Ruth and I independently ran across with LDS
work on the Col. John York family up in Bethel, ME. Whoever did it,
did not know the area of Middleton NH nor its relationship to the
towns around it...When I have more time I look closer at it, but I
don't think there's very much here at this point.Meanwhile the document...I believe the county had a fire and this was
a copy made at some time and now entered into the record to replace
the lost original county record.:Volume B 32 p.67&68

1890 Aug 13 - "Alfred York, whose death was announced in last weeks Argus &
Patriot, came from Maine to Waterbury and settled on what is called Richer Mt
aroung 45 years ago. He engaged in farming and also carried on the cooperage
business to a considerable extent, when such work was done entirely by hand.
By hard work and economy, he was enabled to accumulate quite a comfortsble
property. Leaving his farm and trade he for a time lived at the center, and
about 15 years ago, moved to the street where he has since resided. He was a
man of positive character. Honest in his dealings, and a good citizen. Mr.
York was 84 years old and had been married three times. A wife and two sons,
by a former wife, survive him. A rather peculiar coincidence connected with
the recent death of George W Moody, J G Somerville, and Mr York, who lived on
the same street, and in adjoining houses almost, in that each should pass away
on the same day of the week, Monday, and near the same hour of the day!!"
