which we purchased from Jacob Allen (60a divided by a line across the middle
parallel with the ends), also 5a of the remaining 30a at the westerly corner

Edward Allen - received from his father, Hope Allen (wife Rachel), of
Boston, a large part of Portland, bot from Mr Cleeve, and sold it to George
Bramhall and Henry Kirke. App came first to Berwick, and was fined in York
Court, Jul 1673, for abs from meeting, but soon settled on Dover neck, below
Thompson's Point. Prison keeper 1678, prob bookkeeper for Maj. Waldron. In
1703-1704 he visited Lynn, to assist the widow about his bro, Capt. Benjamin's,
estate. Lists 359ab [on Bloody Point tax list of 23 Jul 1677 at 1s 3p, also on
another tax list c1680], 55a [talesman for the Gove Treason Trial, Jan 1682/3],
52 [Edward Allen of Dover Neck or Cocheco, signed petition against Gov
Cranfield c1686], 57 [signed petition for temporary government by Mass 20 Feb
1689/90]. His wife, Sarah, died about 1720. Ch 3 sons and "several" daus:
Edward - b c1670, (perh the same rec at Boston 11 Jul 1671); m Ann Coleman
d/o Joseph. 10 ch rec at Nantucket 1693-1718.
Jacob - cordwainer, lived west side of Back River, Dover. Will 8 Jul 1752 -
31 Jan 1753. He m 1st 5 Feb 1701-2 Martha Dam, d/o William & Martha (Nute);
2nd Mary (Spencer) Jones, wid/o Joseph, d/o Moses and Elizabeth Spencer; living
in 1761. 6 ch by each wife. See son Edward's will, Strafford Probate 1/203.

household furnishings during her natural life, except one feather bed & bedding
which is to go to son Jacob; at the death of wife Mary all remaining household

Allin, 5 shillings each; also 5 shillings to the heirs of deceased son Joseph
