  Eudora (called Dora) & Arthur A Holmes had a set of twin boys, Myron &
Byron.  One is buried in the North Side Cem.  Arthur A Holmes was a cousin to
grammie Brown.  Arthur & Dora ran a general store beside the big C K Fox She Co
in Northwood and made a very good living from it.  At one time they lived in ma
& pa's big farm house when ma was a young girl.  She recalled visiting them
with Grammie Brown, traveling from Rye Bch in a birdseye maple wagon of
grandpa's & told of holding Chester in her arms all the way [per Wilma T
Regan].

  1895 Jun 7 - West Nottingham: Arthur Holmes is erecting a building 20ft
square on the land of Robert Lucy, which will be used for a bakery to be known
as "Holmes Home Bakery."  Mr. Holmes has sold out his meat market at Northwood
to Mr Sidney Tuttle, and will devote his entire time to driving out with pastry
prepared by h is wife whose excellence as a cook connot be questioned [Exeter
News-Letter of this date].
  1897 - A F Holmes ($0.75), C P Holmes ($0.70), and L W Holmes ($2.55) were
among those paid for snow bills for the spring of 1896 in Nottingham

Sarah Hooper d/o Rev William Hooper, the 2nd minister of the old Madbury
meeting house; Paul built the present Canney house of brick in 1819; in 1851
Paul deeded the place to Aaron Canney, a relative of Herman Canney, who m2
Hannah Hanson of Dover NH about 1878, when the interior of the house was
renovated by the Hanson Brothers builders; it is one of the most substantial
houses in Madbury; Mr Canney leaves a widow, two sons, one dau, & several

Mary Hayes of Barrington, and Emily Buzzell.  On 21 Mar 1857 Emily F Buzzell
and Lemuel R Buzzell signed a receipt for her $3.33 share in the legacy due the
heirs of Patience Gears's dau Abigail who are stated in the receipt to be Mary
A Bodge, Eunice N Gear, Emily F Gear & Elizabeth J Gear [not Deborah J].
