  1800 - Lee NH - Gideon Mathis 2m0-9, 1m26-44, 1m45+, 1f0-9, 1f26-44, 1f45+
[Census].
1811 Feb 8 - from Levi Tuttle cordwainer & Miriam his wife spinster, of Lee
in Strafford Co NH, and Samuel Bickford yeoman, and Ezekiel Clark yeoman &
Deborah his wife spinster, all of Barnstead in Strafford Co NH, for $100, to
Thomas York yeoman, of Lee in Starfford Co NH, three-quarters of 12.5a in
Nottingham, Rockingham Co NH, in common & undivided with lands of John Chapman
of Newmarket, Rockingham Co NH & Micaijah Bickford, a minor child of Micaijah
Bickford deceased of sd Lee, as will more fully appear in the deeds Gideon
Mathes to the sd Micaijah Bickford deceased dated 24 Dec 1791 and also the deed
Stephen Wille of Nottingham aforesaid to Gideon Mathes dated 31 Jan 1783, it
being 3 [sic 9?] of 12.5a which Micaijah Bickford purchased from Gideon Mathes
as above described; signed 8 Feb 1811 by Sam'l Bickford, Levi Tuttle, Miriam
(mark) Tuttle, Ezekiel Clark, Deborah Clark in the presence of Jon'a Chesley &
Joseph Follet; acknowledged by all the signers 18 Feb 1811 before Jon'a Chesley
JP; received & recorded 25 Mar 1811 [Rockingham Co NH Deeds 194/25, abstracted
by Laird C Towle from a photocopy of the deed book 3/2000] [I believe the term
spinster is used here to show that the women were the owners of the property in
their own right, i.e., that they had inherited an interest in it, not that they
were spinners by occupation.  Thus it appears that Samuel Bickford, Miriam
Tuttle, Deborah Clark & Michaijah Bickford were all siblings, and the children
of Micaijah Bickford deceased; Miriam Tuttle, Samuel Bickford, Deborah Clark
clearly constitute the 3 of the 3/4, and minor Micaijah Bickford the final 4th,
so there were apparently no other siblings; how John Chapman of Newmarket fits
in is not apparent].
