Capt. Joseph CILLEY

FAMILY RECORD:
 Capt. Joseph Cilley - s/o Thomas Cilley & Ann Stanyan of Hampton NH; b 4 Oct 1691; [or b 6 Oct 1701, sic?]; d c1786 ae 85y; went from Hampton to Salisbury MA; m c1724 at Salisbury Alice Rawlins (b 1701; d 1801); later removed to Nottingham NH about 1727 and settled on Rattlesnake Hill; he came on foot with his family, with all there possessions on the back of one horse; they began with a log cabin and cleared land; later had a large house near where a red house later stood on the farm owned by Theodore Edgerly c1878; he prospered and became a man of means; his father, Thomas, came to live with him during his final years. Children:
 a) Anna - m ___ Mills. Child: Joseph Mills, Esq., of Deerfield Parade;
 b) Polly - m Richard Sinclair of Barnstead and became the ancestor of Hon. John G Sinclair of Littleton c1878;
 c) Alice - m Enoch Page; liv Cornville ME; left a family, including a dau who m1 Enoch Butler (s/o Zephaniah Butler) & m2 Capt Enoch Moore of Loudon; this dau had a dau by Mr Moore who became the wife of Hon. Jacob H Ela;
 d) Joseph - b 1734; d 25 Aug 1799 ae 65y; m Sarah Longfellow;
 e) Abigail - m Zephaniah Butler (bro/o Rev Benjamin Butler & gf/o Hon B F Butler of MA);
 f) Cutting - b c1738; d 1825 Northfield; m Martha Morrill.
