acct of keeping Benj'a York, a soldier, and of taking up and bringing down to
Portsmouth three French men, ...likewise the acct of Moses Foster for taking up
sd French men & the acct of Doc'r Matthew Thornton for tending Benj'a York -
all of which is on file [NH State Papers Vol 6 - Journal of the House p638].
1758 Mar 21 - on this date the NH House of Representatives allowed, the
Council concurred, and the Gov consented to a payment of L25 to Jonathan Blunt
of Chester NH for the board & nursing of Benjamin York, a soldier in the Hon
Col "Misservey Regt." Blunt presented a bill totalling L127-12-0 which
included L36 for eight gallons of rum to dress the wounds of sd York [NH State
Papers Vol 11 - Early Town Papers - Chester p312].
1758 Mar 22-25 - the Journal of the Council & Assembly for this period shows
several payments made for charges presented by various people in connection
with the Indian War including:
Doct Matthew Thornton allowed L25 for medicine & attendance on Benj. York, a
sick soldier;
Jona Blunt, allowed L25 for care of Benj. York when sick;
Also allowed Jona. Blunt, for charges on three French men taken in the woods
to Portsmouth, L4 in ful;
Allowed Moses Foster for charges on said French men L4 in full; ...

[?????????? Palmer immediately sold this property and another piece bounding on
Benjamin York to George Dutch by a deed recorded immediately following the York
deed. It appears that Palmer had built on York's land by mistake, and the
