To the Sheriff of said County of Rockingham or his Deputy or to any

1872 - no Glovers in Newmarket or S Newmarket [Beckett, Exeter, Newmarket &
S Newmarket Directory, 1872].MISCELANEOUS ITEMS:
Note that there is a 22 yr difference in age between John Glover and his
wife Hannah J which is quite unusual. The census record has been read several
times by different people, and all agree that their ages are 26 and 48
respectively. If his age is given correctly, he could be identical to the John
Glover b Lee 1835 who later m Nancy L Spinney and lived in Kittery and
Portsmouth. On the other hand, if the census data is in error, and he was a
more reasonable age, say 46, in 1860, then he could be identical with the John
Glover of Lee who married Elizabeth Lamos.
Other records show that Hannah J had previously been married to Nathan Drew,
and that the Samuel Drew mentioned above was their son. Likewise, the Nancy
Drew above was the d/o Asa Drew and Mary Lamos of Lee.
The identity of the Almond P Glover above is also a mystery. The only other
Almond Glover ever found in Rockingham and Strafford counties was s/o Samuel
Glover of Nottingham. The later Almond was recorded in Nottingham in 1860 in
his father's household as Almond E age 9. It is possible that these are both
the same boy, recorded twice, which would suggest a relationship between Samuel
Glover of Nottingham and John Glover of Newfields. John, Samuel, and his son
Almon were all shoemakers at various times. The parents of Samuel Glover are
unknown, and records disagree on whether he was b in Lee or Barrington c1826.
