Old Cemetery on Mast Road, Lee NH - boulder in lot enclosed with stone posts
& iron rails - "Elizabeth Burnham, age 23, fatally shot by Indians in Durham
May 22-24 1724. Fell upon this boulder which still shows the stain of her
blood. Her's was the first burial here. These stones were placed at her grave
by S Millett Thompson & John J Bunker 1907. Centaph to John Ed Thompson, Adj't
20 Ill Vols, killed in the battle of Shiloh, Tenn." [Walker et al, Burial

was Temperance Walton; the Underwood children in 1743 were John, Benjamin and
Mary all of Portsmouth; Mary was Mary Hardison in 1747.
