áthe name of God Amen - I Sally Buzzell of Barrington in the County of
Strafford and State of New Hampshire, being weak in body but of sound and
perfect memory, bessed be Almighty God for the same, do make and publish this
my last will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say: First,
I give and bequeath unto my beloved husband Reuben Buzzell the sum of ten
dollars to be paid to him by my Executor in six months after my decease.  I do
also give and bequeath unto my oldest son Lyford J Buzzell the sum of fifty
dollars to be paid to him by my Executor in eighteen months after my decease.  
I do also give and bequeath unto my daughter Charlotte V Cushing the sum of
fifty dollars to be paid to her by Executor in eighteen months after my
decease.  I do also give and bequeath unto my son James W Buzzell the sum of
ten dollars to be paid to him by my Executor in eighteen months after my
decease.  I do also give and bequeath unto my grandchildren, Franklin P Dame,
Sarah Frances Dame, and Alonzo Dame, the sum of one dollar each and severally
to be paid them when they shall arrive at their respective ages of twenty one
years.  And lastly as to the rest, residue and remainder of my personal estate
whatsoever, after payment of all my just debts, I give and bequeath unto my son
Lyford J Buzzell and my daughter Charlotte V Cushing to be divided equally
between them.  And I do hereby constitute and appoint Benjamin Odiorne of
Barrington in the County of Strafford and State of New Hampshire sole Executor
of this my last will and testament.  In witness whereof I have here unto set my

  1729 Dec 10 - Harvey [sic] Buswell [sic] signed a petition as an inhabitant
of Oyster River protesting a grievance regarding the parish boundary and the
minister's rate [NH State Papers 9/238].
  1732/3 Feb 6 - Henry Bussy signed a petition by inhabitants of Dover and
other towns for a grant of a township [NH State Papers 9/170].
  1733 - Henry Bussy signed petition to Joanthan Belcher.  Document at NH
State Archives [Holbrook, NH 1732 Census].
  1733 - the town of Dover distributed among its inhabitants most of the
remaining public lands.  John Buzzell received a full share in this
distribution, and his sons, John Jr (2/3rds), Henry (1/3rd), James (1/3rd), and
William (1/3rd) received partial shares [Hurd, Hist. of Rockingham & Strafford
Cos, p797ff].
  1737 Nov 24 - Henry Buzzell was named executor of his father's will, and
bequeathed the homestead in Dover [NH State Papers 32/670].

  1743 May 10 - about this date William Bussell, Henry Bussell, & John Bussell
signed a petition with other inhabitants of the westerly part of Dover & the
northerly part of Durham requesting that they be formed into a new parish

  1753 - Dover Tax List includes: Henry Bussell 0-9-3; John Bussell 0-15-3;
William Bussell 0-6-9   Joseph Buzzell 0-6-0; they apparently lived in the

Conner of the same, cordw, to divide lot #6 in Barrington which they bought as
joint tenants from Eleazar Russell of Portsmouth by deed dated 3 Aug 1756.  A
line half way between the road between the 1st & 2nd ranges in Barrington to
the town of Rochester shall be the dividing line, and Conner is to have the

  to son Nathaniel, one iron chain & 1/2 of an iron tooth harrow, he having
received his part of my estate already by deed;
  to son Thomas, all my lands in Barrington at age 21, except 1/3rd to his
mother during her life; also, one yoke of oxen & 1/2 of an iron tooth harrow &
3 iron chains & a plow & hoops & boxes for a pr of cart wheels;
  to son Paul, 1/2 my land in Madbury according to quantity & quality at ae
21yrs;
  to son Henry, the other half of the land in Madbury;
  to dau Jean, 2 pewter platters marked "J B" & 3 pewter plates & 1 large iron
kettle, to come to her immediately on my decease, except for the iron kettle
which is to remain with her mother during her lifetime;
  to five daus, Jean, Abigail, Margaret, Mary, & Dorcas - 450# old tenor now
in the hands of Ebenezer Demerit of Madbury, to be divided equally amongst
them, but if sd sum is taken out of the hands of sd Demerit before my decease,
then said sums are to be paid by my son Thomas within seven years after my
